Pharmacy Supervisor

Aurora, CO 

$128,000-$132,000 + Bonus

The Pharmacy Supervisor assumes responsibility for directing workforce in the day to day operations of the pharmacy and professional growth of the department, contributes to development of policies and programs. This position is full-time salary position at Aurora facility. This position will lead and direct strategic planning for the Customer Care teams.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

The Pharmacy Supervisor reports directly to the Director of Pharmacy.  This position oversees a team of Staff Pharmacists and Order Entry Technicians. This position is in a shared services environment, which includes customer service, order entry, and pharmacists. This position works with team members and management in Pharmacy Operations, Medical Records, Consultant Pharmacists, Billing, and Inventory.  This position also works with nurses, doctors and patients in the facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a role model by demonstrating company core values.
  • Provide leadership and direction to build effective teams.
  • Supervise order entry technicians’ and pharmacists’ work on a daily basis
  • Develops, implements, maintains and core pharmacy processes with support from other team leaders. Adapts existing processes to meet business needs.
  • Manages the staffing and scheduling to optimize workflow
  • Manages and approves timecards using Kronos. Ensures team members are following company attendance policy and follows up with team members when needed.
  • Assign team members to tasks on a weekly basis through the utilization of lineup and assignments.
  • Works with Pharmacy Director and Quality Team to eliminate order entry errors (QRE program).
  • Trains team members in their assignments. Facilitates team member professional development by conducting on-the-job training, performance appraisals, and needs assessments. Responsible for recommending and assisting in the development of training curricula.
  • Leads regular team meetings, both in-person and via Microsoft Teams.
  • Sets clear expectations for team member productivity and regularly monitors progress. Provides feedback for team members in a timely fashion and develops improvement plans where needed.
  • Monitor internal and customer/vendor email and phone communications conducted by Processing Team.
  • Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within pharmacy operations to ensure set productivity targets are met.
  • Gives direction, resolves problems, and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work. 
  • Maintain effective communication with customers, coworkers, management, and other team members.
  • Builds and cultivates team member morale, motivation, and loyalty by encouraging participation in pharmacy activities and special events. 
  • Participates in team member concerns: reporting, follow up, corrective action.  
  • Assist Transition Team in onboarding of new customers.
  • Maintain current working knowledge of PACE facility policies and procedures as relates to pharmacy services
  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
  • Competent in software systems that include FrameworkLTC, FrameworkECM, Salesforce, and Business Objects
  • Within the guidelines of authorized Company policies, programs, procedures, budgets, laws, and good business ethics, directs, coordinates, and controls the activities, plans, and programs of the immediate staff, enforces company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree and active pharmacist license for state of Colorado required.
  • Management experience required
  • Exemplary phone and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Long Term Care and/or PACE pharmacy preferred
  • Full adherence to Company HIPAA and FWA policies.
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma processes
  • Proficiency in desktop productivity tools, emphasis on Microsoft Office.
  • Exhibits professional demeanor and ability to guide team.
  • Exhibits patience and perseverance.
  • Exhibits strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Exhibits strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
